Trail Closure Notice

Grand Lookout and the Whetmore trails are temporarily closed to bikes/hiking. A LARGE group of cliff divers were caught in the Quarry with injuries resulting. As a result of this incident, Rock of Ages (the owner of this private property) and the Barre Town Police have asked us to close these trails for the remainder of the year. Please respect their decision. Anyone caught in these areas will be asked to leave and may be fined. Access to “Gnome Man’s Land” will no longer be via Grand Lookout. Please go around and go in by Barre Town school or Websterville Rd. Sorry for the inconvenience. It’s unfortunate that the actions of some inconsiderate individuals have to ruin things for a large group of trail users.

   Yes, that is sh***y, because knuckleheads have been swimming there for years. The vast majority are not bikers, if any.
