Winter officially arrived Monday, but for a couple of weeks now the ground has been white and the temperature low. I’ve been skiing several times already, and while the snow cover is still thin, any wet spots have really frozen up. Saturday, December 26th is planned as the official opening of Millstone Hill for the 2009-10 skiing/snowshoeing season. The ski trails will be packed by snow machine, and groomed where possible. At the moment, there is not enough snow depth to drag the groomer through the rougher, wooded trails. We’re hoping for at least a few more inches of snow accumulation this week to set us up for a great first winter weekend of skiing and snowshoeing. See you on the trail!
