Via Marianne Kotch, Barre Town Recreation Board Member:
The Barre Town Forest is open for exploring! 25 miles of trails wind through woodlands, past historic quarries, and up beautiful viewpoints. Join small groups of walkers of all ages on Tuesdays and Sundays at 9:00 am for fairly easy jaunts all summer. Volunteer guides will point out flora and fauna as we go along, but we also rely on the group to share what they know. Last week, we surprised a partridge family and followed a tree identification trail created by students at the Central Vermont Catholic School. Bring your camera – you never know what we’ll see! Meet at the 44 Brook St. parking area in Upper Websterville.
