Welcome to our 4th annual summer trail series! This series welcomes runners, walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, and other trail users to participate in a weekly course designed by the various trail users who love Millstone Trails! Each week will feature a predesigned route, totaling four routes, that we will rotate throughout the summer.
There is a shorter kids loop – Dragon’s Breath – that has been designed by kids for kids! If your little isn’t ready for the full loops, give this a go and it qualifies as participation!
Purchasing a ticket for the series gets you into the category of your choice, entries into the associated raffle (based on participation), a trail series t-shirt, and an invitation to the end of season party! Your race series entry dollars go towards the continued maintenance, growth, and development of Millstone Trails <3
This isn’t your traditional race series. Beyond being a fundraiser for our trails, this series is a way to invite everyone to Millstone, introduce you to new routes and trails you haven’t been on, reduce barriers to participation in trail events, and bring our trail users together as a part of the whole Millstone community.
Instead of each week’s standings being based on time, the race is participation based. Each week you participate you earn 1 point. Each point is worth 1 entry into the raffle.
There will be many raffle items up for grabs, and you will get to choose which item or items you want your points to count towards. More participation equals more raffle tickets to enter into the raffle for the prizes you like best! The idea is to create an environment where folks can feel encouraged to participate in the series without having to feel the pressures of competition, this is about fun!
Since this series is participation based, lap times are not mandatory to report, but if you would like to participate in a little friendly competition with other runners or riders in those categories, then you can submit your times weekly as well. Sending in your time results is an opt in to be included on the leaderboard that we will post throughout the series.
*Extra laps are for fun or competition. 12 weeks = maximum of 12 points based on participation.
Each week’s participation runs Monday through Sunday and a participation form must be submitted by Sunday night at midnight to qualify for the week. The description and the participation entry form for next week will be emailed on Sundays and the results from the previous week will be emailed on Wednesdays.
You have all week to get out to the trails and run, ride, walk, or otherwise enjoy the course of the week. We will keep track of the points and at the end of the series you will have the opportunity to put your entries/raffle tickets into several prize buckets at our end of series party. Attending the end of series party will increase your chances to get additional raffle tickets and choose the prizes you would like to be in the drawing for. If you are unable to make the party, we will choose the buckets for you based on your chosen category (run, walk, or bike).
