MTA is always looking for more Volunteers. Here is your chance to hit the ground running this spring with our hard-working trail crew.

A typical volunteer year consists of two things:

  1. Monthly group trail work dates.
  2. And if you wish, the “Adopt a trail” effort to maintain a trail on your own schedule

Don’t worry about tools of the trade, we have a small arsenal at our disposal for you to borrow. As long as you have a willingness to work, and want to give back to the trails you love, we would love to have your help.

Public Trail Work Days

We also run monthly trail work days, at which anyone can volunteer.  It’s a great way to meet the Trail Crew and see the work that they put into our trails, and to lend a hand!  All public trail work days get underway at 8:00 AM at the Brook St. garage unless otherwise noted. These trail days will be for our larger projects. At these, smaller projects will also be identified at and assigned to individuals for midweek work.

!! NEW VOLUNTEER REWARD PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT !!

For 2023 we have teamed up with VMBA to track volunteer hours and provide MTA volunteers to participate in the VMBA Volunteer Rewards Program.  When you log your volunteer hours via the link below, every volunteer hour you log for Millstone Trails is worth one entry to win some pretty sweet prizes.

Every month, starting May 31, VMBA will draw one winner to receive a SWEET prize box. All you have to do is ensure your hours are logged in by the end of the month and voila! All hours at an organized Chapter trail day are automatically entered. 1 volunteer hour = 1 raffle entry.

New for the 2023/2024 season. Any volunteer hours you do with Vermont Adaptive’s bike program can be counted towards your hours!

Did you volunteer your time on the trails? Log your hours here!
